July 21st (Lake Day) TO-DO List:

- Pick up waterproof mascara

- Pack: after-swim, sweet-smelling lotion, sunscreen, strawberries, minty gum, that stripe-y beach towel, a change of clothes for dinner, perfume

- Be cute and lovely

Last Friday, Sloane and I went out for sushi at about 6 P.M. In the twelve hours that I'd been awake, all I had to eat were two measly pancakes. We were out shopping with the boys, and the hunger came in crazy. I went batso famished. That monkey ball, the California roll with teriyaki chicken on top, and that other, rich and wild one were the best meal I'd had in a long while. I couldn't quit thinking about it until Monday night, when my French tutor brought the same rolls home. Yesterday, Tuesday, they were unshakably on my mind again, so after my shift at tumbling and a few sunburnt hours at the pool, we went back for a four roll + monkey ball feast. We ate so much. I think I finally curbed the craze.

June Anthem: Ragweed -- Ko Wetzel

I spent the great majority of the month converting someone to country music, and this song was my bible. Maybe it always was. An ex-boyfriend posted a photo of us with its line "She's kinda weird and a full time goon," and I never let that phrase go. Mine. Then there was the tagline of the song "She misses ragweed like I do," which Mr. French hilariously mistook as "She's Mrs. Ragweed like I do," and I swear that I loved that even more.

It's too early to say what July's will be.

...

But Vinyl by Upchurch is sure lookin' like a frontrunner. Each day, I'd get into the truck and as I turned the key in the ignition, that old Lee Brice CD would start up. As I drove over to work, my back would get a little hot and sticky with the windows down as I sang See About A Girl. Maybe it's that one.

Baby photos keep poppin' up:

Maybe that's all for now. Maybe I'll post this haphazard thing on a Wednesday just to be silly.
