Why do you lack confidence?

I used to despise every piece of myself with every bit of energy in my day. I used to believe that I was hideous and unlovable. I used to see myself as a monster and pour my every effort into trying to change. I thought I wasn't smart or disciplined enough, that my body type was awful and wrong, that everything about me was wrong! And it astonishes me now to think about, because I now know that none of that was ever true.
I am a human being: infinite, creative, capable of miracles. I am beautifully painted in browns and golds. I can think and imagine incredible things, bring ideas to tangible reality, bring life into this world. I am able to save people from their sorrows, to remind them of their lovely qualities, and to be kind. I am blessed. You are blessed.
What is it?
your shape?
your intelligence?
your skin?
your personality?
Is it that you just don't know who you are?
Is it that you do?
Or something else? There are so many something else-s.
The fact of the matter is that feeling confident and feeling awful are both invisible things. They are not tangible, measurable, or concrete in anyway. And oftentimes
They run our lives.
If you feel insecurity over any piece of yourself, you must learn to stop feeling it. That's the solution. If you're insecure about your clothes, be grateful that you have any at all. Remember that some people wear one outfit each and every day. Accept that insecurity and turn it to dust. If you're insecure about the shape of your stomach, hips, thighs, arms, face, stop. Be grateful that you don't have those limbs and that you're able to use them. If you're insecure about not having limbs, be grateful for the ability to live, to experience taste, smell, sight, sound, and touch.
Other people weep and long for every single thing that we have. That goes to prove that our grievances are understandable, but not given. They are capable of change. We are human beings. We are capable of change. We are capable of anything, of everything. So why would we choose to spend our time thinking about a negative approach to our greatest blessings: body, mind, heart, soul, and life?
You'll come to find at some point that it is as easy as it sounds here. It's hearing a thought and replacing it; that's all. That's all you have to do. It may feel small the first ten times, but at 200, you'll be someone new. Trust me on this one.
Whenever you think a thought about yourself that isn't born out of pure love, tell your mind that it isn't true. If you do this, you'll come to believe and know it. Take charge of your own life. Choose to love yourself.
